Kevin McCarthy thought all his Christmases had come at once when he took the job of mayor of his hometown. Unfortunately, his first year in office has seen his plans for a brand new million-dollar library fall apart due to budget difficulties, a prestigious bid to host a state-wide conference collapse due to lack of support, and plans for a winter holiday festival get shelved after the American government declared a national State of Emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite his best efforts, 2023 isn’t looking very merry for Mayor McCarthy.
