Honda is recalling more than 304,000 vehicles in the United States over a potential seat belt defect.
The recall affects all model year 2018-2021 Honda Accord and 2019-2021 Honda HR-V vehicles.
The cars in question may have a faulty occupant seat-belt buckle on the right side of the rear seating area. Honda says this defect could prevent the seatbelt from properly restraining someone in the event of a crash.
Honda dealers will inspect and replace the affected seat-belt buckles with improved parts free of charge. The automaker is notifying affected customers by mail and will post an official recall notice on its website soon.
Honda urges customers to take their recalled vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as possible to have the repair performed free of charge.
