on foreign business dealings
Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has reportedly offered to testify publicly before the House Intelligence Committee about his foreign business dealings. According to reports, Biden’s attorneys have contacted the House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee to discuss the possibility of the former Vice President’s son appearing publicly and with press access. However, the exact terms of the proposal remain unknown.
As of now, it is unclear whether any of the congressional committees probing Ukraine will accept the offer. Should it be accepted, the House would then set the parameters of the terms of the agreement as to how the testimony will be conducted and if the hearing will include questions regarding non-Ukraine related matters. It is likely that any testimony will have little impact on the impeachment probe and is part of a larger strategy by Biden’s legal team to avoid any potential legal exposure and to keep the former vice president’s son from being further entangled in the ongoing congressional investigations.
